On Monday, Google announced it will acquire video-sharing site YouTube in a $1.65 billion stock deal. Is this the next big success for Google, or will it be looked at as a bad decision in years to come.

There is talk around the London Exchange that the governor of bank of Italy favors greater consolidation in the sector. The governor reportedly told a banking association annual conference that more mergers between banks should take place and are worth considering where cost savings outweigh merger costs.
This provides something to watch in the upcoming months. When the leader of a EU national bank talks about consolidation, it will lead to more bank leaders looking into the possibilities.
